I participated in the world premiere of the latest work of Germany composer who also a theater director Heiner Goebbels. Everything happened and would happen at the Manchester Arts Festival in the UK.
Goebbels continued to challenge the atypical theatre space and chose the abandoned space next to the railway in the internationally renowned Manchester Art Festival.
In this abandoned large space, Goebbels composed the sounds,readings and so on. as a theatre director , the special way of Goebbels is his openness , the way he arranged musicians and dancers , and the installation in the space to form a dynamic atmosphere. This latest piece of him is the retrospective European history in the 20th century, with poetry, smoke and images created a new interpretation of the landscape. My voice took a part of this piece by reading a Chinese version of Patrik Ourednik’s book :Europeana in it, which is the main text of this marvelous piece.
Goebbels's famous work :Surrogate cities was a big performance event at the Taipei Beitou Depot on August , the experience of that is wonderful ! Which created a unique artistic atmosphere in the most important city of Taiwan. Further more, I wrote an article : The Interaction of Global and Local Cultural Landscape: A Case Study on the “Surrogate City”, which is for the conference of Taipei National university of arts on December.
